Buckeye Time!!!
The Cajun Buckeye Party is planned and it includes three days of festivities from December 30, 2014 through January 1, 2015.
On December 30 the Mid City Yacht Club is having a Welcome party hosted by Ohio State running back Jonathan Wells at 5:00pm. An OSU vs. Bama alumni kickball game will take place in the softball park across the street. And that’s just the start to the party!
New Year’s Eve will be a party all day long at the Mid City Yacht Club. We have a beer truck, partying in the street (yes you can drink your alcohol in the street here), an OSU Pep Band will be playing at 7:00pm, and if this year is anything like year’s past, there will be fireworks in the park at midnight! We will be closing our doors late into the night on New Years Eve (not before 4am).
Game Day will be spectacular all day long again. The party begins at 10am, the kitchen will be open early and the drinks will be pouring with the beer truck on the street and everything available at the bar. Archie Griffin is scheduled to make an appearance at the bar and I would not be surprised to see other former Ohio State players and former/current professional players stopping by.
Gametime will bring a large projection screen pushing the game onto a 16’X9′ screen on the side of the building and the game will be showing on all 14 HDTVs inside. And if all of our Buckeye dreams come true, we may not be closing that night but drinking right past opening time on January 2nd.
There will be a ton of fun in our mild New Orleans weather just waiting for you at 440 S. St. Patrick St.
Our kitchen is cooking our award winning food from the time we open the doors until late in the night. Due to the large crowd expected we will offer a limited but still delicious menu.
We are located just 2.6 miles from the Superdome and 2.8 miles from the top of the French Quarter. The Canal Street Streetcar Cemeteries line goes from the French Quarter to just 4 blocks from the Mid City Yacht Club. It is a short cab ride, drive or bike ride from anywhere in the city. We are a neighborhood bar with a giant courtyard, a softball field across the street and all the amenities you need for your stay in New Orleans.
